The Color of Sime

 

We’re really excited to announce that we reached a licensing agreement with the Sime Gallery to reproduce some of the rare Sime oil paintings held in trust at the gallery.

We will be including several in Lost Tales Volume 6 along with rare, unpublished stories.

The Sime Gallery is run by volunteers and Trustees, visit their website and see some of the stunning paintings held there.  You can also donate or help fund the restoration and preservation of these unbelievable works by Sidney Sime.

Hello friends and collectors from Pegana Press!

I've begun preliminary work on assembling the contents for Lost Tales Volume VI by Lord Dunsany while waiting for permission from the Estate.

I have some lovely unpublished tales as well as a superbly mystical early play from his most fantastic times.

I am always on the lookout for an artist that can do justice to the Master's prose so if you have any suggestions feel free to share!

Rita continues binding work on the last batch of Dark Dreamlands 3 by H.P. Lovecraft and we will keep you apprised as to progress.

I am nearing completion with the printing of the letterpress edition of Collector of the Port by Robert W. Chambers, illustrated by Robert H. Knox;  I should be done by month's end.

Pegana Press

We visit the Neverland of Averoigne and the chill waters of upstate New York at Pegana Press

Currently working on two limited releases. A broadside print on thick pale gray paper of a magnificent triptych illustration from Jim Pitts accompanying the poem Averoigne by Clark Ashton Smith soon available on the website.

I found a fascinating story from Robert W. Chambers to print embodying his unique ability to weave the unreal with the mundane in this tale of redemption and fate....Aquatic and psychedelic rendering of new artwork from Robert H. Knox  to complete this chapbook wrapped in Nepalese gold and sea-green papyrus covers.  Available now to pre-order on the website.

At the bindery Rita continues work on more batches of Dark Dreamlands 3 by H.P. Lovecraft and Lost Tales V by Lord Dunsany.

Press Activity

I've finished scoring, folding, trimming and gathering the signatures for Dark Dreamlands III by H,P, Lovecraft.  It's always a pleasure to finally see a book come together with it's illustrations and contents.  

I have the type set for the Clark Ashton Smith poem "Averoigne" that Jim Pitts is illustrating and will be presented as a multi-colour limited broadside soon.  I used the new Goudy 30 type from Mackenzie and Harris Foundry and it should look stunning when done.

Bindery Update

Rita is busy cutting the boards and endpapers for Dark Dreamland III and will begin binding them soon.

She has batches of Poseidonis The Age of Whelming by Clark Ashton Smith and The Men of Baldfolk by Lord Dunsany under weight and drying.

All Lord Dunsany Lost Tales editions that are reserved and already ordered are now under weight drying and will be ready to ship soon.

More copies of Dark Dreamlands I and II are being bound and should be ready presently.

Of Ink and Thread

 

As Winter continues Rita and I are hard at work on Pegana Press releases. Rita continues to bind more copies of Lost Tales 5 as well as the rest of the series.  More Lovecraft and Clark Ashton Smith coming along as well.

I'm well into the printing of Dark Dreamlands III by H.P. Lovecraft.  Once again the book will feature the brilliant and surreal artwork of Michael Hutter.  Pre-orders will open soon for that.  We hope everyone is staying safe and doing lots of reading.  I'm currently reading Wodehouse and Sax Rohmer...
